| Valiant Fanfiction - PART ONE |
[07 Dec 2006|04:19pm] |
Ah, yes, I'm doing Fanfictions again. It has been ages since my last, which was a Harry Potter. After that one, I decided to stop doing the over-popular books. So, it brought my to do a fanfiction on Valiant, by Holly Black. I'm also thinking about doing one for Tithe, but I'm not too sure.
Well, no one reads this stuff anyway, but here goes nothing...
DISCLAIMER: I do not own Valiant, as much as I'd like to.

| Chapter One: Old Beginnings (Short Update) |
[08 Aug 2006|08:42pm] |
This is the short start to what will be an on-going series. It won't be updated much - I am lazy and kind of busy. Anyway, not much to chapter one...so read on.
CHAPTER ONE: Old Beginnings (NOTE: VERY short)
I sat at the kitchen table, arm almost numb from stirring the dough ready for the neighbourhood watch. It was a tradition of our street. The small town of sat around every full moon of the third month, and it was to be hosted in our house this evening. Yet something was different. I couldn’t be sure, but I was almost positive. Everyone seemed to spark up with nerves every time I mentioned it and hurriedly changed subject. The neighbourhood young adults had noticed it too. Rebecca, my best friend at 15, whom I’ve known since school, had even tried to ask her mother. All she has said was that Rebecca should ‘mind her own business’. So, at last the night had come. Mother was certainly worried about it. She was all flushed and busying herself. The house was spotless by the time the door bell rang to announce the first of our guests. I hurried to put the now thoroughly beaten and aired dough into the oven, so the bread would be ready for the end. I wiped the flour from my nose and began to make my way up the stairs, when Philippe grabbed my leg. He was a sweet boy, lived across the road from me. He made know attempt to hide his admiration for me. I was flattered, but was a little concerned when he offered to become a butler for us. He was a year above me, sixteen, and used spare hours to do sculpting of wood. He was an impressive carpenter. ( go on? )

Forgetting...
The sun was dipping low into the sky, barely a sliver visible. It threw deep oranges, bright reds into the sky, streaking it with colour. Too bright eyes reflected this. A girl, no older than fifteen stared up, mesmerized. She knew what this meant. The Lunar Cast. She could here the chatting, the clinking of glasses, the drunken laughter behind her. A festival all of Grove Hill celebrated. The harvest moon would come out soon, and she would be forcing brandy down her throat. It was the way things happened here. There was a hot grip on her shoulder, and Aurora looked up, into the dreamy eyes of Danaan.
